COWD ANNOUNCEMENT for Increase in water delivery from COBI; July 16, 2018
INCREASE IN WATER DELIVERY FROM COBI
Our bulk water supplier has increased its delivery to us from 40 million liters of water per day MLD) to 60 million liters per day (MLD) effective June 30, 2018. This additional volume has augmented water supply in eleven barangays in the west side and the seven barangays in the Municipality of Opol currently served by COWD. This would also mean improved water service in elevated portions in the western part of our service area.
In order to verify the impact of the additional delivery, COWD has conducted a survey on the water supply availability during night time among residents of Pag-ibig Citihomes, which is among the areas with very low pressure. Results of the interviews show that, indeed, the number of hours of water service has increased as compared to their supply prior to the 60mld delivery. Youngsville residents have also confirmed improved water supply. The customers expressed their satisfaction over this development and hoped this will be for good. Our monitoring of the elevated areas in Patag and Bulua have all shown significant improvements in water service. Overall, we have noted improvements in water service in the western part of our service area.
The Cagayan de Oro City Water District is currently monitoring the stability of COBI?s supply as it continues to make technical adjustments to ensure the efficient delivery of water service.
COWD intends to be able to provide 24/7 supply to its customers by intensifying its non-revenue water reduction efforts and developing additional sources.
