COWD is in the implementation phase of its Water Safety Plan (WSP) after it was issued a Certificate of Acceptance by the Department of Health.
A WSP is a tool to enhance the security and reliability of operations as well as the communication about water safety to the customers.
The World Health Organization circulates a water safety plan manual to guide the risk management efforts of drinking water suppliers. The manual considers all the steps in water supply from catchment to customer taps.
