In accordance with Republic Act No. 8041, any person who shall damage or interfere with any property of the WATER DISTRICT, illegally tap any connection with water lines, tamper water meters, and steal water meters, mainlines and pipes shall be imprisoned from six (6) months to two (2) years. The offender should also pay a fine not exceeding double the amount of the value of the water stolen or the value of the damaged facilities. If the water is stolen for profit or resale, the offender shall be punished by imprisonment from six (6) months to twelve (12) years.
